Monday night at Silver Moon may have been a high priced show but the tunes the bands offered up was well worth the price.

Opener Gill Landry of Old Crow Medicine delivered a melancholy but striking performance. His beautiful and talented partner, who Iโ€™m pretty sure was named Odessa, knew her stuff and crooned ballad after ballad in a haunting soprano backed by a mean fiddle.

The low-key openers made for a great match with The Felice Brothers, who not only played some old dirty jams, but had a drum machine that brought the bar to the dance floor. Their older material made for a fantastic folky, country backdrop for their newer songs that had everyone on their feet. Prefacing with โ€œStop smoking that cigarette and come sing a song with meโ€ the lead singer of the Bros called on his opener for a stunning collaboration. Dance beats and down-home country, along with locals-night prices made Silver Moon the place to be Monday. Fantastic showing of some out-of-town acts.
