My conjecture is that sugar from sweetened milk that children drink at school is trivial compared to their out-of-school sugar sweetened liquid consumption. Reduced sugar consumption by children then becomes primarily a parental responsibility, and it appears that many parents are not doing a particularly good job in this area.

Hi Wil,
Thanks for your thoughts. You’re absolutely right. Kids are consuming the bulk of their sugar outside of school. My hope is that if we start teaching the kids good habits at school, then they will bring those habits home.
