Hi, I’ve been gone from Bend for a year and just got back and wanted to say to you blind drivers out there. Will you please pay attention to people in the crosswalks, okay? I have had so many close calls with drivers and do not want to get hit especially over at Brosterhouse (sic) and 3rd Street. For some reason people switch off their brains and look one way without looking at who is in the crosswalk.

So to avoid a lawsuit, pay attention.

  1. I agree, since the roads aren’t maintained in the winter, snow and ice builds up. Stopping time is greatly increased and as a walker I am very fearful. Residents need to pay attention, follow the speed limits. Downtown speed limit is TEN MILES AN HOUR and it is REQUIRED BY LAW to stop for pedestrians. If you’re going 20 or 30 through downtown, you deserve to get in trouble.
