The last sentence in your political endorsement jumped out at me. It states, “Likeable as Dudley is, Oregon can’t afford to give the governorship to a guy who’ll need on-the-job training.” In your 2008 presidential endorsement you could have used the same sentence only with three substitutions and you would have been right-on: “Likeable as Obama is, the U.S. can’t afford to give the presidency to a guy who’ll need on-the-job training.”

John, We can’t help but agree. Let’s see, one guy was a U.S. senator who spent his entire life in public service and ran on a defined platform of ending the U.S. campaign in Iraq while rebuilding our sagging nation at home. The other is a former pro basketball player with no political experience who is running on a non-platform of tax cutting platitudes and hoping his name recognition will carry the day. Yep. They could have been separated at birth.
