“War in Iraq”??? It ended on an aircraft carrier with “Mission Accomplished”!

The “mission” was an illegal pre-emptive attack on a defenseless country. What exists is the rationalized defense of an illegal occupation. Exit, NOW!

  1. Mission accomplished was the successful invasion and occupation of the land and subsequent military defeat, which was fact. The concept that Iraq was a defenseless country is ludicrous in the extreme. They managed to carry on a war with Iran for eight years. That, by obvious definition, is not defenseless.

I have no personal recognition of our Supreme Court identifying the Iraq war as being illegal. If it is illegal, presumably those miscreants would be arrested by the appropriate authorities and charged with same.

Bates, as usual, has an extreme leftist view of altered reality that has no basis in fact. Presumptive, assumptive bias coupled with a closed mind, which he has in abundance, is not fact.

  2. C.T.,

Hmm, your’s is an odd thought… The Republican dominated Supreme Court somehow attacking the Bush Cabal? Well, as it turns out they have done so on several occasions regarding the detention of prisoners in Gitmo, etc. See: Hamdan v. Rumsfeld, Arar v. Ashcroft, Ali v. Ashcroft, etc.

But as to the Iraq War itself, I’m very much looking forward to seeing the entire Bush Crime Team getting the Pinochet treatment should they ever dare to travel to the civilized world.

[Aside: You might not be aware, but magistrates in Italy just commenced a court case against 26 U.S. CIA agent for an illegal kidnapping and extraordinary rendition perpetrated in Milan.]

There’s plenty of reason to hope that criminals like Bush & Cheney will eventually be brought before the bar of justice, perhaps in Milosevic style at the Hague. Just not in America. After all, did the supreme court of Germany ever indict Adolf and His Merry Band of Exterminators? Did Soviet courts ever dare defy Stalin? Of course not. This is the essence of rule by a “unitary executive” in a dictatorship, which is the current state of affair in the U.S. today. No one dares to indict the President. No one dares to impeach the man. In spite of the fact that the very same Congress that could take a blue dress and turn America into a global laughingstock is today totally incapable of seeing any crime worth commenting on.

We’re on the glidepath to Hell, C.T.. I’m sorry you are too blind to see that.

  3. If you think the world was watching at the beginning of all this, they’ll really be watching at the end of it. If we “EXIT NOW” the world would point to us for leaving defenseless people to fend for themselves in mass chaos and bloodshed. It’s the same old thing with you guys, you dont care how many more people would die. Your sanctimonious stance against anything remotely military trumps the lives and efforts of others. If we do “EXIT NOW” remember to hold your head up high and proud, maybe stick your chest out a little. Just repeat to yourself “I’m a good person, I hate war, Bush and my country” over and over again to drown out the screams of Iraq citizens suffering more brutality and killing.

  4. Hello Observer,
Just keep repeating to yourself that no matter how big a mistake it was to place our troops in the Middle East – it’s all going to be O.K.. Just ask the Israelites when it’s going to stop being chaos and bloodshed in Iraq. Just keep repeating to yourself, “I’m a good person, I love war, Bush and my country” over and over again to drown out the screams of Iraq citizens suffering more brutality and killing. War without end Observer, that’s what this country’s all about – right?

  5. Hell, as wars go, Iraq is a tiny one. What’s all the fuss about? We’ve got 150,000 troops still stationed in WW2 countries. More of our soldiers are being killed in vehicle accidents in the US than are dying in Iraq. Iraq is one of the safest places for our military to hang out. The weather their sucks, though.

All this fuss and bother about Iraq is by political opportunists who see it as anti-bush talking points. If these political hacks gave a crap about human life…they would be begging us to stay in Iraq. The planet has never seen bloodshed like will prevail if we just up and pull out.

These “anti-war” activists want total chaos in Iraq for political advantage here. But, we are starting to see signs that their obscene plan might just backfire on them. It appears McCain will kick the ass of either of the two lying deadbeats the Democrats came up with. Reason will likely prevail in the fall.
