<a href=”http://BendFilm is well underway, having kicked off last night with a party at the Oxford and screenings at the Tower Theatre and Regal Old Mill. The festival is showing films all over town at the Oxford Hotel, McMenamins Old St. Francis School and the Sisters Movie House, in addition to the aforementioned venues. If you’re looking to check out some screenings today (which might require slipping out of work…which we’ll OK, but just this one time), here are some recommendations as to what you should see. American Jihadist This documentary tells the story of Isa Abdullah Ali, aka Clevin Raphael Holt, an American-born citizen who spent much of his life fighting in Islamic wars in Afghanistan and Lebanon. 12:30pm, Regal 5. 10:30pm, McMenamins 1.
The River Why: An adaptation of the popular novel of the same name, this film tells the story of a talented young fly fisherman who leaves his family to live alone in a cabin. 3:00pm, Tower Theatre.ย
I Love You, Phillip Morris: Jim Carey stars as a conman who ends up in prison, where he falls in love with Ewan McGregor and continually attempts to escape. 8:00pm, Regal 5.
