Planning a great summer is not easy work.

In fact, it has taken us two complete issues to just provide listings of recommended events: Two weeks ago, we published our annual Summer Music Guide with suggestions for shows and festivals in Bend throughout the summer, and in every direction from hereโ€”in Portland, Eugene and Ashland.

But that wasn’t enough. The Source is happy to present its first ever Summer Events Guide, a listing of various festivals, street fairs, bike races and beer events. Yes, it is a lot to consider and consume. To help guide you through our Guide, we have broken down the listings into five categoriesโ€”food festivals, outside events, stage productions, art and street festivals and, of course, beer happenings.

And, we also take a moment to introduce you to some of the people making these events happenโ€”the quilters for Sisters’ famous festival; a paddleboard instructor; one of Bend’s newest chefs, who will present her slightly exotic comfort food at Bite of Bend; and, one of the fine actors at this summer’s Shakespeare in the Park festival.

Yes, there is a lot to do this summer. But don’t worry. We’re here to help.
