ย  ย Cascades Raptor Center in Eugene announced the addition of two new fledgling raptors to its ambassador team: a baby Snowy Owl and a baby Northern Hawk Owl. Despite their small stature, the two owls have big personalities. To celebrate the new ambassadors, Cascades Raptor Center is launching a baby shower campaign. Community members who donate to Cascades Raptor Center between August 1 and August 18 will be entered to win an exclusive private encounter with the owlets, as well as a swag bag of Cascades Raptor Center goodies and merchandise.
ย  ย โ€œNot only are these two new babies adorable, but they play an important role as Educational Ambassadors,โ€ Julie Collins, Executive Director at Cascades Raptor Center, said in a news release. โ€œTheir species are not commonly scene in the Pacific Northwest, so they can help us highlight other ecosystems and the important part we can play in saving those ecosystems. It is so much fun to be able to share how Northern Hawk Owls and Snowy Owls live in the natural world.”

ย  ย While the owls arenโ€™t yet on public display, community members can still have a chance to see them out and about during special events. The owletsโ€™ arrival coincides with the launch of several new specialty events at the Center, including the upcoming Brunch with the Birds. Guests at this ticketed event will enjoy a continental breakfast while meeting several resident raptors up closeโ€”including, of course, the new baby owls. Tickets for Brunch with the Birds, as well as other popular Cascades Raptor Center events like Queer Night and Fright at the Raptor Center, are on sale now at cascadesraptorcenter.org. All proceeds support the ongoing care and conservation work of the nonprofit center.
ย  ย Cascades Raptor Centerโ€™s training staff will select names for the owlets in the coming weeks. The Raptor Center treats 400 to 700 animals each year and is the only raptor-specific wildlife clinic in Oregon. Its nature center welcomes thousands of visitors each year with more than 30 education birds on display.
