Roundabout Books & Café is excited to announce our 10th year participating in the Independent Bookstore Day (IBD) celebrations taking place across 1,600 U.S. bookstores on the last Saturday of April with great deals for our customers including our annual IBD Tote Bag Giveaway.
IBD celebrates the role of independently owned bookstores in the community, offering a local place to shop for reading materials of all kinds, and in creating local third places for community members to gather in. In this digital age, supporting small businesses is critical and IBD is a great way to show support.
Since Roundabout Books was founded in 2016, we have celebrated IBD with customer activities, special deals and lots of spirit! This year, customers who shop on April 25 will be able to take advantage of a number of special offers. There’s always a line at the door, so make sure to arrive right when we open at 10:00am so you don’t miss out.

Why IBD? As an Indie Bookstore, Roundabout Books is a gathering space for our community. We host author events, book clubs, story times, community workshops, and more. We partner with our library, public schools and non-profit programs on events, book fairs and book drives throughout the year. We try to donate to every student, school, non-profit, and other community member who asks us. We support our local author community by carrying their books. We keep tables and chairs open for your comfort while you browse the stacks and enjoy a few peaceful moments. We hire educated readers who love to talk books with you. We support and nurture the literary community in our town in every imaginable way.

IBD was established in 2013 to promote, celebrate, and highlight the value of the independent bookstore community. The day is observed on the last Saturday of April. This year more than 1,200 stores will participate across the country.
Independent Bookstore Day is organized by the American Booksellers Association, a national not-for-profit trade organization, that works with booksellers and industry partners to ensure the success and profitability of independently owned book retailers, and to assist in expanding the community of the book.
Roundabout Books & Café is a full-service independent bookstore, located in the heart of Bend’s Northwest Crossing Community. The staff take tremendous pride in their highly curated selection of new adult and children’s books. Local Bend resident, Cassie Clemans, founded Roundabout Books with a vision of enhancing the life of our community by providing a warm and comfortable literary space where people of all ages are welcome to read, browse, shop for books, meet a friend, or enjoy an event.
