The Open Arts Center (OAC), a new 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to fostering creativity, intergenerational learning, and belonging, is now open in Bend. Located at 999 NE 2nd Street, in the heart of the Bend Central District, OAC offers a welcoming, community-driven space where teens and adults can explore artistic expression, build creative skills, and connect in a supportive and inclusive environment.

A Creative Hub for Teens and Adults

OAC serves both teens and adults through a range of accessible programs and flexible creative spaces. At the heart of its mission is the Teen Center (ages 13โ€“18), a dedicated space where young people can gather, create, and be themselves without pressure or evaluation.

Teens can:

โ—Create art, music, fashion, and more

โ—Use high-quality tools and supplies

โ—Participate in creative workshops or Open Art Hours

โ—Collaborate and connect with peers in person

โ—Explore new ideas and follow their curiosity

โ—Attend and help plan events like the monthly Teen Open Mic

The Teen Center includes art and craft supplies, musical instruments, a sewing and fashion station, flexible workspaces, a quiet/classroom area, and a comfortable lounge.

Adult Programming, Co-Working & Studio Space

In addition to youth programming, OAC offers opportunities for adults to engage in creativity and community through:

โ—22 Private studio rentals for artists and makers needing dedicated space to create

โ—Creative Co-working memberships for individuals seeking an inspiring, art-centered and communal workspace

โ—Creative workshops and classes across disciplines

These offerings are designed to support both hobbyists and working artists, fostering a vibrant, intergenerational creative community in Bend.

Accessible Programming

OAC is committed to making creativity accessible to all:

โ—Free Open Art Hours (Teens): Tuesdays & Thursdays, 3โ€“7 PM

โ—Low-cost Workshops (Teens): Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays

The Teen Center is staffed by a dedicated Teen Program Director and trained, background-checked volunteer mentors. OAC welcomes all experience levels and creative interests and is committed to accessibility. Families are encouraged to reach out to discuss anyspecific accommodations.

Community Collaboration

OAC welcomes partnerships with local schools, counselors, PTOs, and youth organizations, as well as collaborations with artists, instructors, and community groups interested in hosting creative workshops or events.
