Keith Witcosky recently moved from Portland to Redmond to become the new city manager. We asked him to provide some first impressions:

“When the Source gave me an opportunity to brag about what’s great about Redmond for its Best Of edition I had a tough time keeping to only five. I’ve only been here a few weeks, so I know my list will exclude some top-notch places I plan on getting to soon. Here are my early go-to places for amazing food, beverages and friendliness.

Pig & Pound: Paul Mercer’s British-style pub has top-notch local beers, really amazing fresh, local meats and produce.ย  They even make their own mustard.ย The patio allows dogs.

Soup 2 Nuts: Made-to-order sandwiches, homemade soups and salads.ย They even make their own bread.ย

One Street Down:ย Dine in the shade under giant evergreens on mosaic tables or sit inside a wonderful cottage and eat some of the freshest, tastiest food in Redmond.ย  Always relaxing and peaceful, and never a bad meal.

Dry Canyon:ย If you like beautiful parks and pathways for running, biking, walking your dog or riding, check out Redmond’s Dry Canyon.ย A great place to get away.

Redmond Public Works Department: Beautiful parks, smooth streets and clean water.ย  I’d put the talent of this department up against any in Oregon! Bring it on, neighboring communities!”
