A local family-owned McDonald’s franchise invites the community of the Greater Bend Region to a fun-filled celebration to commemorate the year their family opened the first McDonald’s east of the Cascades on November 13, 1973.

Local McDonald’s Owner, Scott Acarregui, is a third generation Owner Operator whose grandfather, Bill Bloom, opened the first McDonald’s at 2048 NE 3rd St in Bend, Oregon, in 1973. Scott’s mother, Nanette Bittler, followed in her father’s footsteps by becoming a McDonald’s Owner Operator in 1990. Bittler and her husband Mick since expanded their locations to Bend, La Pine, and Sisters with Acarregui joining the family business by becoming an Owner Operator in 2018.

The 50th Anniversary Celebration will take place on November 13th at the North McDonald’s, site of the original 1973 McDonald’s in Bend.
