50501 Central Oregon invites community members to join “Rise Up, Sing Out” on Saturday, June 13, from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Peace Corner, located at the intersection of Newport Avenue and Wall Street in Bend.
The gathering will feature community singing, drumming, and other participatory activities designed to bring people together in a spirit of solidarity, joy, and civic engagement. Organizers encourage attendees to bring their voices and take part in an afternoon of music, connection, and community action.
While communities across the country are hosting Rise Up, Sing Out watch parties on Sunday, Central Oregon organizers are gathering a day early to celebrate the power of collective action and community. The event reflects a belief that people-powered movements have played a vital role throughout American history in advancing civil rights, expanding democracy, and challenging authoritarianism.
“Authoritarians want fear, silence, and isolation,” organizers said. “We choose joy. We choose community. We choose people power.”
Rise Up, Sing Out is intended to be an inclusive, participatory event rooted in care for one another and open to all who share a commitment to community and democratic engagement.
