The Mt. Bachelor Sports Education Foundation (MBSEF) invites the community to celebrate the 50 years of the Pole Pedal Paddle at a PPP Trivia Night on Tuesday, May 5, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Crux Fermentation Project’s Pub in Bend.

The event brings together long time participants, volunteers, supporters and newcomers for an evening honoring five decades of PPP history. Attendees are encouraged to show their PPP pride by wearing their favorite PPP T-shirt and bringing their favorite PPP Mug.

From 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., all PPP mug fills will be complimentary, courtesy of PPP Major Sponsor Crux Fermentation Project, bringing back a tradition from PPP’s early years. For attendees who arrive in a PPP shirt, but without a mug, a limited number of PPP mugs from past years will be available for use, while supplies last.

Trivia participants may play individually or form teams of two to four people. Trivia will be co-hosted by former PPP Race Director Molly Cogswell-Kelley, along with seven-time PPP Champion Marshall Greene. Katie Sheldon, daughter of PPP co-founders Dave and Jenny Sheldon, will also be in attendance. Trivia questions will span the history of the event and are designed to be a mix of approachable questions for newcomers and challenging questions for long time participants and supporters of MBSEF and the Pole Pedal Paddle.

The PPP Trivia Champions will receive prizes from Major Sponsors Powder House and Crux Fermentation Project, as well as limited-edition vintage PPP T-shirts featuring Dave Sheldon’s original course map, courtesy of MBSEF.

To further mark the 50th anniversary, MBSEF will offer a one-night-only incentive for trivia attendees: 50% off 2026 PPP registration. Printed discount coupons will be available exclusively to those who attend Trivia Night in person and will be valid until midnight on May 5th. While the offer is limited to those not yet registered for 2026, MBSEF notes that additional appreciation efforts are currently being devloped for already registered participants to recognize their strong support and commitment to MBSEF and the Pole Pedal Paddle.

Members of the media are invited to attend PPP Trivia Night and are encouraged to connect with Mt. Bachelor Sports Education Foundation leadership, PPP Race Director, and participants to learn more about the event’s 50-year legacy and its impact on youth sports in Central Oregon.

PPP Trivia Night is free and open to the public.
