Discover Your Northwest and the Deschutes National Forest are hosting Smokey Bear’s birthday party on Sunday, August 9, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Cascade Lakes Welcome Station. The festivities will include photo opportunities with Smokey and kid-friendly activities. Forest rangers and guests will sing “Happy Birthday” to Smokey at 12:00 p.m. A limited number of birthday cupcakes will also be available from 12:00 p.m. until they run out.

Located just past milepost seven on the Cascade Lakes Scenic Byway at 18500 Cascade Lakes National Scenic Byway, Bend, OR 97702, the Cascade Lakes Welcome Station serves as a gateway to some of the most popular trails and lakes on the Deschutes National Forest. The Welcome Station also offers parking and access to Phil’s and Wanoga mountain biking trail systems. 

Stop by the Cascade Lakes Welcome Station to help wish “Happy Birthday” to Smokey and meet some of his forest ranger friends!
