Clear Mourning, a Bend-based nonprofit, is bringing back Camp Courage this summer, and we want the community to know about it. Camp Courage 2026 is a free 3.5-day summer camp for children ages 5 to 12 who have experienced the death of a loved one. Camp runs June 22 through 25 at the Big Brothers Big Sisters Campus in Bend.
Grief can feel incredibly isolating for kids, especially when they are surrounded by peers who havenโt experienced loss. Camp Courage gives children a safe, fun place to express their feelings, connect with others who truly get it, and just be kids. Campers take part in meaningful grief projects, personal artwork, outdoor games, music, and activities all designed to meet children right where they are. Therapy dogs are on site every day, and snacks and lunch are included.
The best part? It is completely free for every family who attends. Camp Courage is made possible through community support and donations, because every child who is grieving deserves access to this kind of care regardless of their familyโs circumstances.
Families interested in registering a child can RSVP atย clearmourning.org/event/coming-soon-camp-courage-2026. Volunteers are also welcome and can sign up through the volunteer form on the same page.
