The Cooley Sewer Improvements Project will begin construction on Monday, July 13 between Ranch Village Drive and NE 18th Street. During this project, expect lane closures and delays with flagging, but traffic will remain open in both directions. Project completion is anticipated in the fall.

The work will take place from 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Cooley Road will be open to traffic outside of the construction hours on weekdays and open on weekends. However, expect rough surfaces and reduced speeds through the construction area.To lessen travel impacts, the timing of the closure aligns with the school summer break, when traffic volumes are reduced.

Drivers should expect delays and peak times may see longer waits. Business and residential access will be maintained throughout construction and emergency response access will be maintained at all times.

The project improvements include a new gravity sewer main along Cooley Road and Ranch Village Drive. The new line will connect to existing infrastructure west of the Cooley Road and 18th Street intersection, and the pump station on Ranch Village Drive will be decommissioned.

This project enhances the sewer collection system capacity, reduces long-term operation and maintenance costs, and increases system optimization and reliability.
