Ellipse Theatre Community (ETC) announces its June 2026 production of “Rabbit Hole” by David Lindsay-Abaire, directed by Lilli Ann Linford-Foreman. Performances run June 4–14, 2026, at Open Space Event Studios. Winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, Rabbit Hole is a deeply moving story about a family navigating unimaginable loss. With compassion, honesty, and moments of unexpected humor, the play explores grief, memory, and the complicated path toward healing. Director Lilli Ann Linford-Foreman notes that “at heart, Rabbit Hole is about finding a way through heartbreak to reconcile what was with what is, on the way to what can be.”
This production is part of ETC’s Immersive Experience program, designed to extend the impact of the play beyond the stage. Throughout the run, audiences and community members will be invited to participate in a variety of reflective and creative offerings centered on themes of loss, resilience, and hope. These experiences will include interactive art opportunities, collaborative creative projects, facilitated conversations with community leaders and mental health professionals, and post-show discussions with the cast and creative team. Together, these events aim to create space for dialogue, personal reflection, and shared expression, fostering meaningful connection within the community. Funding for these programs is made possible through contributions from World Muse, Peaceful Presence, Partners in Care, NAMI Central Oregon, ClearPath Healthcare, Mark Jamnik, IBM, and the Tower Theatre Foundation.
“Rabbit Hole” stars Makenzie Whittle, Chase Johnson, Hilda Beltran-Wager, Jamie Speed, and Warren Schweitzer. The production team includes Lilli Ann Linford-Foreman as director, Kit Foreman as assistant director, Phoenix Wickberg as stage manager, Randy Heise as scenic designer, Eric Denzler as lighting designer, Barbra Rich as sound designer, Angela Lund as properties run crew, and Debbie Levin as lead producer.
