Registration is open for Round 6 of the Specialized NW Cup downhill mountain bike series at Mt. Bachelor’s Bike Park Aug. 7–9. Competitors are encouraged to register early, as space is limited.
The three-day event will bring hundreds of downhill racers to compete on Central Oregon’s premier lift-served terrain, welcoming riders of all experience levels with 4 skill-based categories broken down by gender and age:
Cat 3 – Beginner: For riders who are new to downhill racing or just getting started. This is the most common entry point for first-time racers.
Cat 2 – Intermediate: For riders with some racing experience who are comfortable on more technical terrain and racing at a faster pace.
Cat 1 – Expert: For advanced riders with significant racing experience and strong technical skills.
Pro: For elite-level riders competing at the highest level of the series.
While the series consists of seven races and six resorts across four states, participants can choose to compete in just one event. Each race consists of individual award ceremonies with results contributing to an overall series championship.
NW Cup racers must have a USA Cycling race license to compete. A one-day license may be available at registration, but riders planning to race multiple events should consider the annual license.
Please note that Mt. Bachelor’s Bike Park will be closed to all non-race participants Aug. 7–9 while the event is underway. Guests planning to visit the resort that weekend are encouraged to check the latest operating information on Mt. Bachelor’s Mountain Report.
Racers will have the opportunity to purchase a discounted 3-Day Mt. Bachelor Bike Park pass, valid for the event. Spectators can purchase Scenic Chairlift tickets or explore Mt. Bachelor’s summer activity offerings.
Visitors from out of the area are encouraged to camp at Mt. Bachelor in a powered or non-powered spot or stay at Trailhead Lodge, located just 20 minutes from the resort and five minutes from downtown Bend.
Mt. Bachelor’s summer activities include a zipline, sunset dinners, scenic chairlift rides, camping, hiking, dining, and disc golf. Mt. Bachelor also has a licensed Childcare Center for infants six weeks old to children ten years. Sun Country Tours, Mt. Bachelor’s river outfitter, offers a variety of half and full-day whitewater rafting adventures and river tube rentals including transportation to and from the water via electric golf cart shuttles.
