Roundabout Books is excited to host author Chelsea Iversen at an in-store release day event on July 28 at 6:30 pm. Iversen’s new novel, The Whisper, is a speculative thriller following a group of friends who must return to the small mountain town where they grew up to confront the past and use their power to find justice for their dead friend.
In the small mountain town of Whisper Ridge, the girls were inseparable. Joey, Quinn, Sophie, and Elena lived by six rules as they channeled magic in the woods. The first being: when the trees whisper, listen. But all rules are forgotten, all bonds broken, when Quinn is found dead in the trees.
The friends scatter, all except Joey, who can’t move on. Until, fifteen years later, she hears the trees whisper. Those woods remember some of Quinn’s last words, and for the first time, Joey realizes she may learn the truth of what happened to her best friend. And so, the friends will return to Whisper Ridge, to the woods that once held their magic and their secrets. But unearthing the truth about Quinn puts them all in danger, and they’ll need to channel their power for the first time in fifteen years to put the past to rest.
The Whisper is an immersive read, told from multiple points of view and journal entries, with a hint of magic making this an enthralling read.
Chelsea Iversen has written several novels including The Witches at the End of the World and The Peculiar Garden of Harriet Hunt. She is a content writer who runs a creative business with her sister. Chelsea lives with her husband and dog in Colorado, where she reads her runes at every full moon and aspires to have a signature tea mug for every season. This is her third novel.
