Roundabout Books is excited to host New York Times bestselling memoirist Brianna Madia at an event at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Central Oregon on April 9 at 6:30 pm, to discuss and read from her newest memoir, Homesick Nomad: Settling into an Untethered Life

On sale April 7, this profound and moving memoir delves into the complexities of self-discovery, independence, and the quest for home in an untethered world. Her new work invites readers to explore the landscapes of the American West and the equally vast terrain of the human heart.

Following her acclaimed books Nowhere for Very Long and Never Leave the Dogs Behind, Madia continues her exploration of an unconventional life. Homesick Nomad chronicles her journey after leaving a marriage, embracing solitude, and navigating the challenges of modern connection. The narrative fearlessly confronts the pain of online harassment and the emotional weight of public scrutiny, offering a timely reflection on vulnerability in the digital age.

Through her signature blend of raw honesty and lyrical prose, Madia examines what it means to build a life on one’s own terms. The memoir explores themes of financial independence, resilience, and the constant negotiation between freedom and societal expectations, including traditional expectations around motherhood.

Ultimately, Homesick Nomad is a testament to the strength found in starting over and the courage it takes to define home for oneself. Madia’s journey through grief, healing, and newfound love offers a powerful and empathetic look at the search for identity.

Madia’s dogs will be on the patio for a meet-and-greet before the event. Please do not bring dogs to the event. We will also have copies of her previous books available before and during the event for signing. Event check-in and book pick up will begin at 5:30pm in the UUFCO lobby. Madia can personalize books after the event.
