New Event Tonight at the Sunriver Library: Adult Recess!

The Sunriver Area Public Library introduces Adult Recess, a program for adults to play games and do crafts.

The Deschutes Public Libraries have been providing after school craft and game programs for children and teenagers on a regular basis, but until now it seems a certain group has been left out of the fun. Adults now have the opportunity once a month to join others in their community for a night of either gaming or crafting.

Ignite Bend 6 Announced

The sixth installation of Bend’s slideshow presentation event is slated for February 9.

Ignite Bend, the ongoing multi-media event that brings locals up onto the Tower Theatre stage to give five-minute slide show presentations on a variety of topics, has just announced a date for its sixth installation.
Ignite Bend 6 is slated for Wednesday, February 9 at the Tower and coincides with Global Ignite Week.

Last Comic Standing Winner Performs Tonight

Jim Mortenson and other Last Comic standing finalists perform tonight in “No Contest.”

Call it a victory lap of sorts, but the winner of Central Oregon’s Last Comic Standing is performing tonight at the Old Stone Church as part of No Contest, a show that gives some stage time to the top funny people from the contest, but this time with no prizes on the line.
The winner, Jim Mortenson — a funny, funny, hilariously funny dude — will be on hand, as will runner-up Jake Woodmansee.

There are funny people among us here on the High Desert and some of those folks will test their hilarity tonight at the opening round of Central Oregon’s Last Comic Standing. They’ll tell jokes and do impressions and make fart sounds and all the other sort of good stuff that makes you explode in laughter.
