Presented by Stars and Rainbows, Kiss Me/With Every Heartbeat is a well-paced family rom-dram. Slightly less steamy than a Swedish bathhouse (just slightly), the story trundles along the star-crossed love affair of Frida and Mia, two young attractive women who, whoops, meet at their respective parent’s engagement party; that is, they are destined to become sisters. Less overtly lesbian and more simply a love story between two peeps, the tension is derived mainly from the chemistry between the two women, the slightly awkward family arrangement (they are about to become step-sisters after all) and the cultural gulf between the bohemian Frida and straight-laced (and, oh, engaged) Mia.

Monday, 7 pm. Volcanic Theatre Pub, 70 SW Century. $5
