Bobby Gould in Hell and Volcanic Theatre
PUB Fundraiser

A new theater venture is underway in Bend and itโ€™s a little different than anything weโ€™ve seen before. Volcanic Theatre PUB will open this fall with an intimate black box venue in the Century Center. To keep the cash flowing for the pub/theater project, Derek Sitter and the rest of the Volcanic team are holding this fundraiser featuring live music from Jared Nelson Smith, and Avery James and the Hillandales. Three Times Bad

Epic moustaches and drunken, bent bluegrass. Three Times Bad is a twisted version of the storytelling songs you would expect to hear sitting on a porch deep in the Appalachian mountains, wearing overalls with no shirt, loaded shotgun within reach. Galveston Street Project

The first of its kindโ€”a last-Friday event on Galveston Avenue that organizers hope to keep rolling through the rest of the summer. Most every business on the street, including food carts, will stay open late. Live music will pour from shops. Beer and wine tastings will abound. Special art displays will hang. Hullabaloo

This summer kick-off event combining beer, food, NWX Crit bike races, music and kids activities is guaranteed to live up to its name. 1776 in Concert

Kick off your 4th of July holiday with a healthy dose of patriotism and good olโ€™ American history all wrapped up in song and dance. 1776 in Concert is a musical portraying the debates between members of the Second Continental Congress leading up to the signing of the Declaration of Independence and features an all-female cast.ย  Reserved seats are $20 and available at towertheatre.org. 7pm Friday and Saturday, 2 pm Sunday. Fourtunate Youth

Fortunate Youth brings its rootsy vibes, bass lines and multiple harmonies to the Domino Room. The band is a collaboration of South Bay reggae musicians whose high-energy approach and positive stage presence makes for an unforgettable show.ย  Tatanka opens the show at 9pm. Oyster Off Road Adventure Race

Out of all the fun races and athletic events this town has to offer, and holy s there are a bunch, this one nearly tops the list. Hereโ€™s the deal. You get a team of two to four together, you register and you head out on a mystery course around town. You have no idea what youโ€™ll be doing, but it will certainly involve using clues to solve problems, engaging in zany stunts and performing any number of athletic feats involving running, biking and even water sports. Free beer at the finish. $85. Register online through noon Friday via oysterracingseries.com. Register in person at FootZone on Friday from 3-6pm. Crux Fermentation Project Opening

Join the Crux Fermentation Project for their official opening, aka Cruxapaloza! The celebration will include unique guest taps, a BBQ, beautiful views of the Cascade Mountains and some great live music. Locals Boxcar Stringband and Kentuckyโ€™s Longrifle will open the night. Ukulele Jam

Fourth of July

Do it up right this year either backyard style with your friends and family or partake in some of the excitement at any of the many, many events happening around the area. We recommend dressing up your kids and dogs and getting in on the Pet Parade action in downtown Bend. No details as of press time, but it just wouldnโ€™t be a Fourth without a Freedom ride.
