Calling all writers! Send a fictional short story based on one of the below prompts to the Source Weekly for a chance to be published in the paper and win awesome prizes. Read the guidelines below and submit to fiction@bendsource.com

Choose from one of the following prompts:

“I’m in love with cities I’ve never been to and people I’ve never met.” —John Green

“She could never be a saint, but she thought she could be a martyr if they killed her quick.” —Flannery O’Connor

“The more clearly one sees this world, the more one is obliged to pretend it does not exist.” —John Irving

Interpret the prompt how you will. You do not need to use the quote in the story, just as a guiding, inspiring principle.

Submissions are due Sunday Sept. 14
