Central Oregon’s craft brewing scene has grabbed more than its share of

headlines, but the local homebrew scene has flown under the radar. That’s about to change this weekend when The Deschutes Brewery will host a first-come, first-served home brew competition at the Bend Fall Fest. The competition is open to any and all homebrewers who wish to enter a “fresh hop” beer.

The first 15 entries submitted will go before a panel of judges that includes Crux Brewmaster and former Deschutes top dog, Larry Sidor. The winner gets to do a ride-along, AKA brew day with Deschtues’ head brewer Robin Johnson. Sign ups begin on Friday at 5 p.m. and judging will happen on Sunday. More info, Melissa@c3events.com
