Central Oregonโ€™s craft brewing scene has grabbed more than its share of

headlines, but the local homebrew scene has flown under the radar. Thatโ€™s about to change this weekend when The Deschutes Brewery will host a first-come, first-served home brew competition at the Bend Fall Fest. The competition is open to any and all homebrewers who wish to enter a โ€œfresh hopโ€ beer.

The first 15 entries submitted will go before a panel of judges that includes Crux Brewmaster and former Deschutes top dog, Larry Sidor. The winner gets to do a ride-along, AKA brew day with Deschtuesโ€™ head brewer Robin Johnson. Sign ups begin on Friday at 5 p.m. and judging will happen on Sunday. More info, Melissa@c3events.com
