A longtime Bend food spot, Dump City Dumplings, is soon to close up shop forever. After 17 years, the place that started as a cart and later expanded to brick-and-mortars in the Old Mill and eventually Galveston Avenue is announcing its closure at the end of August. The owners of Dump City, which serves Chinese bao-style dumplings and other dippable treats, say it’s time for a change. They’re planning a big party to mark the end of the era.

Dump City is, “having a big, long hootenanny on the last weekend to celebrate,” owner Keith Shayon told the Source. “Friday [August] 28th is our last ever Bingo with Banana Dan, Saturday the 29th is will be our final big party with live music from 4-10pm. Sunday will be our last lunch service.” Dump City will be open 11am to 6pm Sun., Aug. 30, with Monday being the last day open to the public, followed by “a special invitation to our friends from the service industry to join us for one last goodbye starting at 4-ish and going till we run out of things to toast to,” Shayon wrote in an email.

“It’s been a real joy to work with, alongside and for, so many wonderful people,” Shayon wrote.
