Openings… closings… something is always brewing in the world of food and drink in Central Oregon. Here are a few of the latest happenings from the world of coffee and tea.

-A west side coffee house that had a brief run under the name Fox & Fern permanently closed over the Oct. 10 weekend. Fox & Fern, located along Centuery Drive, opened in the spring of 2025 in the space formerly occupied by Kevista Coffee. The owner of the building, David Cox, took over the space and changed its name to Fox & Fern, after Kevista’s owners closed and opened a new shop in Idaho. A sign taped to the door of the coffee shop announced the permanent closure as of October 11.

“We appreciate everyone who visited and supported our shop,” the sign read.

–A new-ish coffee truck is aiming to be a welcoming gathering place for people to grab coffee and feel welcomed, wherever they hail from. Redemption Coffee is a food truck at the Elevation Bend shopping center with aspirations of being a brick-and-mortar shop in the future.

“We opened with a vision to give people the opportunity to have a place to feel seen and heard,” said founder Marcus Brammell. “Our values are coffee, community and connection. It’s not just coffee that we’re selling here.”

Specialty items right now include the Ocean Roll Latte — which as you guessed, features cardamom and vanilla, as well as a Salted Caramel Latte and the seasonal Pumpkin Spice Latte. Brammell uses all organic ingredients and features plastic-free cups. Coffee is sourced from Bend Roasting Company in Bend.
