Downtown Redmond food cart lot, sports bar and live music venue General Duffy’s is up for sale, its owners announced Sept. 9. The sale includes the business and its 1.4-acre, four-parcel commercial property.
Co-owners Dick Robertson, wife Susan Robertson and son Tanner Robertson are, “seeking a buyer with the resources and vision to build on the established business and on the property’s development potential,” read a press release from the listing agent, Capacity Commercial Group. “Given its location, Enterprise Zone status and vertical development potential, the family believes the site could support a larger mixed-use project, including hospitality, entertainment, dining, retail or residential uses, subject to applicable zoning and government approvals.”
The Robertson family opened General Duffy’s in 2019 with the idea of building a locale where locals could gather. A collection of food trucks evolved into a community event space, the Annex bar and a venue that fits up to 3,000 people, which has featured national acts that included Trace Adkins, Nate Smith and Elle King. The space has taken home numerous awards in the Source’s Best of Central Oregon readers’ poll, including Best Bar, Best Music Venue and Best Place to Watch Live Music in Redmond.
“We wanted somewhere families could bring their kids, friends could meet after work, musicians could perform, businesses could celebrate and community organizations could raise money,” the family wrote in the release. “For eight years, Central Oregon took that idea and made it something far greater than we could have built alone.”
General Duffy’s sale price is listed at $5.6 million, with 2025 revenue listed as $1,911,252, according to the site BizBuySell.
“Until the right people take the keys, we are operating exactly as we always have,” Tanner Robertson wrote in an email to supporters. “The beer will be cold. The food trucks will be cooking. The music will be playing. The events will continue. And my Team and I will still be here welcoming you and your family through the doors and into our space. There is no predetermined goodbye date.”
