An ice cream chain that set up shop in Bend in 2023 now appears to be coming to Redmond, too. A sign announcing that a Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream will soon be coming to the Hub City has been placed inside the commercial building at SW 5^th and Forest Avenue in downtown Redmond.

Handel’s, first opened in 1945 in Ohio, serves up fresh ice cream that it makes daily on site at each location. The company operates a handful of locations in Oregon, including one on S. Hwy. 97, on the south side of Bend. Handel’s did not respond to inquiries about an opening date by press time.
