Broken Top Bottle Shop is bowing out

A popular westside restaurant is closing for good. Broken Top Bottle Shop at NW Pence and College Way will celebrate its last day in business on July 31. The restaurant, which has been open more than 14 years, offers a wide selection of beer as well as a vast vegan/vegetarian menu along with smoked steak and chicken dishes.

โ€œWe will go out in style!โ€ the owner wrote on Facebook. On the last day, the band Zipline will perform and there will be special sales.

IndoDaddy on pause

The IndoDaddy food cart has closed temporarily. Owner Jason Wiggers says his most recent location at the Ballers & Brews food truck lot in NE Bend wasnโ€™t working for him.

โ€œIโ€™m taking a step back to revamp my menu and look for a spot that better suits IndoDaddy,โ€ he told the Source.

IndoDaddy is an Indonesian fusion cart that opened four years ago. Before Ballers & Brews, it had been located at Bevel Craft Brewing.

Elevation Farmers Market on Pause

The new Elevation Farmers Market is suddenly on pause for the rest of the summer. It kicked off in May and was scheduled to continue through October. Held Friday evenings at the former Bend Factory Outlet mall, the event included music, food trucks, a kid zone, produce and other vendors. In a social media post, the organizer said the market was being suspended due to heat and smoke but would pick up again in early September for five weeks. An indoor winter series is also being planned at Elevation Bend which will involve holiday gifts, food and lights.

One of the Elevation Farmers Market vendors, Around the Bend Farms, has reopened at a new location.

“Due to the unexpected, last-minute cancellation of the remainder of the Elevation Farmers Market season, we quickly shifted our plans and are thrilled to now welcome our community directly to the farm,” Executive Director Kelly Moffatt said in an email. Their stand is now located at its Braided Roots Urban Farm in Deschutes River Woods at 19245 Shoshone Road. The stand is open Fridays 4-6pm and Saturdays 9-11am.
