2nd Street Theater, which is operated by the non-profit Stage Right Productions, is up for sale. The theater is listed with a sale price at $789,000 with **Correction** Compass Commercial Real Estate Services.
The east Bend theaterโa small venue with seating for 93-100 people that has been in operation since 2001โhas hosted past shows including “Menopause the Musical”โthe longest running sold out show in Central Oregon historyโ as well as “Hair,” “Jesus Christ Superstar” and the cult classic, “Evil Dead, the Musical.”
Sandy Klein, managing director of 2nd Street Theater, declined Tuesday to discuss the reason for the sale, except to say all buildings are for sale. Klein said she intends to keep the production company.
In September, Gregory Michael Thoma, whoโs listed by state business records as the president of Stage Right Productions, was arrested at Sawyer Park in northwest Bend. Thoma was accused of connecting with a child on the internet and later committing several sex crimes with the child, whoโs less than 16 years old, Bend Police stated in September.
In September, Thoma was booked into the Deschutes County Jail on charges of third-degree rape, three counts of third-degree sodomy, second and third-degree sex abuse, first-degree online sexual corruption of a child and luring a minor for sexual conduct.
Thoma is free on bail, after posting 10 percent of his $80,000 bail in early September.
