AMC Theaters has confirmed rumors that Warner Brothers plans to release a six-minute prologue to Christopher Nolanโ€™s third installment of his Bat-trilogy, The Dark Knight Rises. Audiences will get a taste of this highly anticipated film during IMAX presentations of Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol which, like the Dark Knight Rises, uses extensive IMAX technology.

AMC also reported that only theaters with 70mm screens (higher resolution) will be fortunate enough to show it, while the digital screens will have to wait for its summer release. At this point, it is unclear which theaters will be getting this special Dark Knight treatment, but since the Old Mill recently opened their IMAX theater, we can cross our fingers.

The Dark Knight rises on July 20, 2012.
