The Facebook Group pushing a community buyout of Mt. Bachelor is calling for a boycott of the resort’s public meeting this week if Mt. Bachelor refuses to rescind its spring hours that limit operations to four days per week beginning April 30.
Scott Greenstone, a local financial analyst and business consultant, who serves as the administrator of the FB Community Buy Out of Mt Bachelor (sic) of Mt Bachelor posted this weekend that if Mt Bachelor declines to revisit its operating schedule that they are “telling us clearly that they have no interest in taking actions (not words) to serve our community. I think that if they say NO, that our Community should show our SOLIDARITY by STAYING AWAY,” Greenstone wrote on Saturday.
The community forum is scheduled for 6pm, Wed. March 21 at the Riverhouse. Meanwhile, the Community Buy Out group has grown to nearly 2,000 members as of Sunday afternoon, since it was launched last week.

HaHa, you know, I always thought the best part of the rockies was it filtered out most of the NE SHREDDAS from places like Mass. and Vermont, clearly Scott slipped through the filter. Heard there s a nice hill in Boston that you can go shred on Scott. Hope you pick that option. there always Killington too….where you can go kill it.
BOYCOTT BOYCOTT!!…then I can have it all to myself. Seems boycott Bachelor folks know little or nothing about the profit margin of a ski area, if there was money to be made, the mountain would be open. I have had 18 season passes at Bachelor, and while the mountain does’nt always run perfect, the biggest and worst change I have seen over the last 2 decades is all the TRANSPLANTS who have moved here, and decided Bend is theirs. I hope everyone who thinks Mt. Bachelor sucks speaks with their wallets, and move back to Vail, Aspen or wherever they came. HAHA..for real. Beat it!!
I would be bummed if I was a student who wanted to go up Mon-Wed in May after class, or on my day off. However, having been one of those students in the past, I can attest to the lack of people who are up there those last few weeks of the season. I’m sure Bachelor has statistics on the lack of demand, they should release them. I don’t see it as that big of a deal.
