Bend Police announced today that they will roll out another crosswalk enforcement campaign this week. Police officers will be out on Wednesday midday at Franklin and Harriman to monitor if drivers are yielding to pedestrians in the crosswalk near the rail underpass. The enforcement will be conducted between 10 a.m and 2 p.m. and is the third of four pedestrian safety stings this summer. Drivers who fail to yield to pedestrians inside or entering the crosswalk can be fined $297.

The Bend PD did not mention the possibility of warnings.  So be prepared to get on the brakes, or get out the checkbook.
