To honor and celebrate Black History Month, Camalli Book Co. will discuss James Baldwinโ€™s classic coming-of-age saga, Go Tell It On the Mountain on Thursday, February 3rd beginning at 6:30 pm.

Every first Thursday the book club, facilitated by local aspiring author William Akin, discusses modern books that are both challenging and lend themselves to multiple opinions.

This club is great for readers who enjoy a roller coaster of tangents, as past meetings have focused on modern authors vs. classics, the difference between good storytelling vs. good writing, and whether or not Sandman author and beloved creature of the night Neil Gaiman is the second coming. Host and bookstore owner Tina Davis provides age-appropriate beverages and a light snack or two, since what can be better than talking about books over wine and chocolate cookies? ย
