The nice folks over at Warner Bros. Music Group sent me several copies of VERSES, a compilation of tracks from their artists. I’ll be traipsing around Bend Roots this afternoon with 25 copies of the disc featuring tracks from Jeff the Brotherhood, Atlas Genius, Iron & Wine, The Flaming Lips and more. All you gotta do to score one is find me and ask!

If you can find the guy carrying a gray messenger bag that sports a vintage Nixon/Agnew campaign button, you’ve got me. You’ll also know it’s me if I’ve got my camera out taking shots of some of the great performances at the many Bend Roots Revival stages.

See you there!

Sincerely,

Ethan Maffey

  1. In this week’s Source on page 5, y’all have a big ad about Steve Martin directing peeps to Bent Blog for more info. But there’s no info to be found. Anyway… To answer your question about my favorite Steve Martin character, it has to be Rigby Reardon (Dead Men Don’t Wear Plaid, 1982). This is a spot-on homage to the film noir of Hollywood’s golden age. What with cross-dressing, making ladies swoon and escaping death, this private dick does it all. Please count me in for your ticket give-away for the Friday, Oct. 4th show. Thanks!
