Bend-La Pine Schools will host Oregon Rising at 6 p.m. on May 12 ย at Summit High School. Parents, students and the community are invited to dream the future of Oregon schoolsย during a community gathering that is part of a statewide campaign to communicate local ideas to the 2017 Oregon Legislature.ย
โThis is an opportunity for Oregonians to dream big for the future of education,โ saidย Superintendent Shay Mikalson.
Oregon Rising is a collaboration between the Confederation of Oregon School Administrators, Oregon School Boards Association and the Oregon Education Association. The campaign will survey 10,000 Oregonians.
โWe are very interested in learning what Oregonians imagine schools could be if there were no limits โ and then developing a plan of action to deliver on our collective dream for Oregon students,โ said Craig Hawkins, COSA Executive Director.
