In honor of Veterans Day, as well as veterans themselves, the Oregon Film Alliance is presenting a free screening of Everymanโ€™s War, an Oregon-made World War II film Wednesday night at the Tower Theatre.

The film was directed by Thad Smith and also stars a Bend native in Cole Carson. Telling the true story of a group of soldiers from the 94th Infantry Division (of which Smithโ€™s own father was a member), Everymanโ€™s War takes place in a small German town in 1945 where the outnumbered American troops were hunkered down in a harsh winter conditions.

To recreate the German landscape, the production team shot in Scapoose, Oregon where they built an entire street that served as a road in Nennig, Germany. What began as a short film project turned into a full feature-length film that took home the Best Narrative Feature at the GI Film Festival.

The best part about this screening, which begins at 7pm at the Tower, is that itโ€™s completely free. Donations, however, can be made to the local Veterans Administration.
