Autumn in is many things: a crisp sweet smelling breeze, the crunch of fallen leaves beneath a pair of Gor-Tex shoes, colorful pillow-y scarves around the necks of women strolling through Drake park and soft incandescent tunes that float like thick smelling wood fire smoke.

This Friday Mixtape ushers in the Fall Equinox with cozy songs. The tracks “Young” by Dallas Texas band Air Review and “Mtn Tune” by Oakland outfit Trails and Ways flicker like a happy flame on a Pumpkin scented candle. And more rustic acoustic tracks from Paper Bird and Matt the Electrician are as warming as a heavy afghan blanket.

There may be plenty of sunshine left in 2013, but it’s going to get colder. Snuggle up with this playlist of hearty music when it does.
