Press play on this week’s mixtape and be whisked away into a dingy record store playing music slightly elusive but decadently inviting all at the same time.

That’s often the experience when visiting a local independent music hustler. The tracks they promote are different enough not to be instantly catchy, but communicate an intense need to be owned nevertheless. That’s what these songs are.

Experience the dark and loveable track “I Suck at Life” by Bare Mutants, eclectic fuzzy pop from bands like A Lull and Eldest Son as well as spacy rock from Foxygen front man Jonathan Rado. Pay special attention to the song “Officer” by punk youngsters Saint Rich and definitely take the watch its fun little music video.
