Two fundraisers aimed at raising funds for the 7-year-old girl injured in the Oct. 15 shooting at Silver Rail Elementary School in Bend have brought in hundreds of thousands as of Saturday.

“Saylor Graham is a 7-year-old little girl, daughter, sister, and niece (sic) with a fierce determination to thrive,” reads a GoFundMe page set up by Trisa Lovejoy this week. As of Saturday afternoon, the fundraiser had brought over $365,000. Another fundraiser for Graham and her family, set up by Darci Moreau, a “business partner” of the family, had raised over $309,000.

Police say a 16-year-old gunman shot his way into Silver Rail Elementary close to 1pm Thursday, shooting and killing 25-year-old teacher Megan Lambert, 5-year-old Rhoem Summer and two other children in their special needs classroom. The gunman also shot the 7-year-old and another teacher, 54-year-old teacher Becky Drury, both of whom were rushed to the hospital in critical condition, police said.

A fundraiser for Drury on GoFundMe had raised over $34,000 as of Saturday. Police said Drury’s condition was stable as of Friday. St. Charles Medical Center would not confirm whether Drury was still a patient as of Saturday afternoon. The injured child was being treated at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland as of Friday, authorities said, but did not provide her name.

“Saylor is a feisty, loving child with numerous medical needs, and this unimaginable trauma has brought medical expenses and uncertainty to her family during an already difficult time,” Lovejoy wrote on the GoFundMe page.

In 2024, Bend Senior High School’s Sparrow Club, an organization whose work involves “empowering kids to help kids in medical need through compassion, kindness and sponsored community service,” according to its website, “adopted” Graham as its “Sparrow,” helping raise funds for her care.

“Saylor is a sweet, happy, adorable, and resilient 5-year-old little girl who lives with medical challenges resulting from a CASK gene mutation,” the Sparrow Club website shared in 2024. “Although Saylor usually uses a wheelchair, especially in public, she can walk on her own – a milestone her parents were once told she would never reach.”

Police told reporters Friday that the 7-year-old injured child was “fighting for her life” at OHSU. As of Saturday, neither OHSU nor Doernbecher Children’s Hospital would confirm the condition of Saylor Graham, nor whether she was a patient there. But Bend Police said the child’s status had not changed since their last update.
