The New York Times has a good breakdown of how we got to this point and how the shutdown is playing out, as well as some interesting infographics.

  1. We need a law that says a government shutdown = no confidence in the government. We hold a nationwide election for every seat in Congress within 90 days.

  2. You don’t need a weatherman to know who the windy blowhards in the Republican Party are. The tea party mob despises government and hates government workers. The GOP leadership in Congress is scared shitless by Ted Cruz, who offers living proof that George W. Bush is not the only idiot to graduate from an Ivy League school. The TPers are terrorists who want to bring the government to its knees because they simply can’t accept that a black man is President. Racists? You betcha! Michael Funke
