Last month we told you about local orchestral rock band Isles and their improvisational shows. As promised, their first new album made of instrumental rock is set to be recorded during a live show this weekend during Last Saturday.

As members of Isles talked about during our interview with them at Good Life Brewing in May, they also have plans for an ambitious album that includes rehearsed/written music with thematic lyrics. As a special treat some of those songs will be featured as well.

The show gets started at 7 p.m. in their recording space at Studio 3 (In the Old Ironworks near Sparrow Bakery). There will be a short intro/improv set followed by the full concert at 8:30. A portion of the show will be recorded and used for their instrumental live album that is set to be released later this summer. The show is FREE.
