Every second Monday of the month, the Source hosts a smashingly fun and smart Media Salon!
This month we focus on bikes—one of Bend’s greatest obsessions. (Beer, one of Bend’s other great obsessions, also will be on tap and flowing.) The casual Think & Drink, Q&A-style event is a follow up to our famous Bike Issue, which hit stands last week.
To fully explore Bend’s two-wheeled fanaticism, we’re bringing in a topflight panel, with experts from across cycling spectrum.
Doug LaPlaca, Visit Bend CEO/president (and super-strong road racer) will discuss the bike industry’s economic impact on Bend as well that of national-level races hosted in Central Oregon.
John Frey, Hutch’s bike shop manager (and downhill shredder), explains the latest in bike tech—including Bend’s fascination with Strava, a social-media app for the hyper-competitive.
And David Blair, Travel Oregon consultant (and mountain bike fiend), takes on Phil’s Trail development and infrastructure.

Media Salon: Bikes in Bend
