The Nature of Words, Bend’s literary festival just released the lineup of authors who will be present at the 2011 edition of the festival, which takes place between November 2 and 6.

Here’s the lineup that was announced tonight at the festival’s Book Plate event:

Augusten Burroughs (keynote)

This writer is best known for the memoir about his outlandishly unconventional (and at times disturbing) youth, Running With Scissors, which was later made into a movie. The author — who had a successful career in advertising before he began writing — is also the author of Dry, another memoir, which details his struggles with alcoholism.

Heidi W. Durrow

The Portland native and author of The Girl Who Fellย  appeared at tonight’s event and will return in November.

William Kittredge

One of Oregon’s premier writers, Kittredge is a former rancher who began writing later in life and his work details Western themes.
