Here is the press release. Interesting news for a popular Bend hangout and live music venue.

Silver Moon Brewing, the third oldest brewery in Bend, has announced a change of ownership with a new direction planned for the company. Established in 2000 on Division Street by Tyler Reichert as a home brewing supply and nano brewery, the company moved to its current location on Greenwood Avenue in 2004, and installed a new and larger brewing system that came on line in 2005.

Silver Moon Brewing quickly established itself as a national award-winning craft brewery for its Pilsner, Stout, Lager, Porter, and various specialty releases.

Assuming ownership of the business are Matt Barrett and James Watts who will immediately take over operations. Watts, who also owns the Cycle Pub of Bend, and Barrett, who owns and operates the Snap Fitness facilities on Westside Bend, first met at Silver Moon as members of a local beer club. Both come from careers in the technology industry, with strong backgrounds in sales and marketing, and plan to add a number of new events and experiences to the craft beer market. Reichert will stay on board for a period of time assuming the role of Founder and Brand Ambassador, focusing on expanding distribution through outside sales across Oregon.

Immediate plans for the Company include a modest remodel of the existing tap room, expanding distribution in both current and new markets, adding guest taps to the local tap room, enhancing the already successful live music scene, as well as creating and executing several new community focused events.
