More than half of the Bend business that were checked failed a recent minor alcohol sales sting operation conducted by Oregon Liquor Control Commission (OLCC.)
Only six out of 14 business that OLCC visited successfully IDโd a minor at the time of purchase, according to the agency, which conducted the compliance check on Feb 24. The 43 percent success rate is well below the statewide average of 76 percent for 2011.
According to the OLCC, the businesses that failed the check were:

Businesses that fail OLCC minor sales checks are subject to probation, fines and in cases of repeat offenses, suspension or lose of license.

Again they fail as they don’t have an option. If I was running the store and someone who looked under 21 didn’t provide a second ID, I’d suspect the first ID was a fake and would immediately run it through a shredder. Of course, then I would be arrested for destroying a government document, but word on the street would stop both the underage attempts plus stop the entrapment that OLCC is conducting.
