Oregon Super D Series Comes to Bend

Pump up your 4^th of July weekend by rolling over to 10 Barrel’s Urban Pump Track Jam this Saturday, July 2. Sponsored by the Oregon Super D Series (oregonsuperd.com), registration for the day’s event runs from 11am until 2pm, with pump track shred sessions starting at 3pm, and a $10 entry fee to strut your stuff. NW 12^th street is set to be shut down and built up with a man-made pump track, so whether spectating or racing, a good time is sure to be had by all. With a jam format in full affect, riders are free to take as many runs as possible on the packed, bermed dirt in the allotted amount of time. How efficient and fast are your pump track skills?

Sunday: Didn’t get enough on Saturday? Follow up 10 Barrel’s Urban Pump Track Jam with stop number two of the Oregon Super D Series (part of the North American Enduro Tour), the Bend Super D, on Sunday, July 3. With several different categories to enter (entry is 65$ a pop) don’t be intimidated to start the fireworks early and give things a whirl. Chances are you’ve already ridden the course at some point or another (the race follows Funner into Storm King), so why not hit it at speeds perhaps just a little outside your comfort zone? You’re probably faster than you think… or slower. Only one way to find out. Oh, and although your hardtail could probably hack it, full suspension bikes come highly recommended. More two-wheeled fun: Celebrate the fourth with the 12th Annual Firecracker ride — a supported metric century bike ride (65 miles). The ride starts and ends at the Alfalfa power station and travels to Prineville and back utilizing the counter-clockwise route. There will be three hydration stations with great food along the course. Get started at 8am to beat the heat. Cost is is $15 per person and you can register at mbsef.org up until Sunday, July 3. If you’re a slacker, you can also sign up on-site the day of.
