In 2001, Dr. Robert L. Spitzer, a leading psychiatrist, presented a study supporting the idea of “reparative therapy” for those who identified as gay. Dr. Spitzer, who turns 80 next week, recently did what he should have done (and known) decades ago.
He said, in effect, “I’m sorry” (Actually, he said “โI believe I owe the gay community an apology.”).
“Repartive therapy?” “Sexual reorientation?” Jesus… The idea that there’s even a need for a homosexuality “cure” is preposterous. The notion that someone can design and administer such a cure is beyond looney.ย
This ridiculous train of thought reminds us of the hilarious movie, But I’m a Cheerleader. If you haven’t seen the satirical comedy/drama, do so this weekend.

How about a “cure” for the idiot who has produced 17 children by 11 different women–recently in court demanding “child support”.
Would this “leading psychiatrist” have a “cure” to suggest for his “condition”?
I do–although a tad late, buy very effective going forward.
As for the “leading psychiatrist” being “beyond looney” with his suggestion, a friend in graduate school, having been subjected to many credit-hours of psychology, observed that a number of
persons attracted to that discipline appear to have “unresolved conditions”–that’s “psych-speak” for “looney-making” emotional and mental stress that can make you, potentially, “looney”, if unresolved. Dr Spitzer. . .a case in point?
Attached to that is the typical intellectual arrogance of the half-educated sophist.
